Antenatal & Parenting
The Kaupapa Māori Antenatal & Parenting programme is a free service that covers both traditional Māori and mainstream practices relating to pregnancy and birth.
The programme also assists hapū Māmā access relevant services such as:
- Maternity services
- Whānau Support Services
- Well Child Pēpi Ora
- Safe Sleeping Specialists
The programme is delivered once a week over a five week period for all hapū Māmā and their support Whānau.
This programme is available to all hapū Māmā and their support whānau who meet publicly funded health services eligibility requirements.
Referrals are accepted from GP’s, midwives, other health and social support providers as well as self referrals.
Eligibility is as per the Ministry of Health Eligibility criteria guidelines for publicly funded health services.
This service is free of charge for all eligible persons.
