Mental Health Services

Child, Infant & Youth

The Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS) is a free, community service for children and adolescents up to 19 years old and their families/whānau.

We provide assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with mild to moderate mental health disorders.

Even if they do not make the original referral, your family GP will be kept informed and involved as the primary medical caregiver.

Referrals

Anyone can make a referral, including the young person or their whānau. We get most of our referrals from GP’s, family, friends, medical specialists, school guidance counsellors, Police Youth Aid, school and education services, the Children & Young Persons & Their Families Agency or community groups.
