About the Position
Te Manu Toroa Covid Community Services are looking for a full-time Registered Social Worker to support whanau who have experienced Covid in the community. As part of the team, you will be working in a Kaupapa Māori Integrated Services team. The focus is providing whānau centred, whānau focused and strengths-based services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate individual who has great listening skills, and organisational skills. We are looking for a mature person who is respectful of others, and who is culturally sensitive.
Due to the Government mandate for Covid-19 Vaccination for Healthcare workers, the successful applicant for this role must be fully vaccinated before commencing the position and must be able and willing to provide proof of vaccination.
Essential for the role:
Tertiary qualification in social work
Current registration and practicing certificate issued by the Social Workers Registration Board
A good understanding of Te Reo Me Ona Tikanga Māori or a willingness to learn
Clean criminal record
Clean, full New Zealand Driver’s License
Good understanding/working knowledge with high needs communities
Utilising a strengths-based approach to whānau/family intervention
In addition, experience and understanding of working with Māori and with a diverse range of cultures is a requirement of the position.
As Te Manu Toroa is a Kaupapa Māori Health Provider, the applicant must be able to work within a Kaupapa Māori framework.
