COVID-19 is the most recent virus in the Coronaviruses family.  Coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases.

The most common symptoms of the coronavirus COVID-19 are fever, tiredness and a dry cough. Some people may also experience aches and pains, nasal congestion, a runny nose or sore throat and some people may be infected but don’t develop any symptoms or feel unwell.

About 80% who contract the Coronavirus COVID-19 will recover without requiring any special treatment. Older people and people with pre-existing health conditions i.e. Diabetes or heart disease are at higher risk of complications.

The Ministry of Health have set up a specific number to provide information and advice to the community regarding the Coronavirus COVID-19.
