COVID-19
How we can help
As New Zealand moves through the COVID-19 pandemic, there is undoubtedly a sense of uncertainty at this time. As an essential service provider, we want to assure our community that Te Manu Toroa will continue to operate and provide health and social service support.
Te Manu Toroa began its COVID-19 planning and preparations in late January, working alongside Ngā Mataapuna Oranga PHO, our provider network and our stakeholders, to ensure we have the capacity and capability to provide continuity of care in the event of a state of emergency. We have a client population of over 9,000 and are committed to providing support and assistance during this time.
Our general practices, the Tauranga Moana City Clinic and Te Akau Hauora Clinic, will continue operation from Monday to Friday.
Contact via telephone first is essential; this way our clinical and administration team can provide the best support and advice. A doctor or nurse will have a conversation on the phone and will then decide with you the next steps.
If you are required to see the doctor or nurse at the clinic, then you must remain in the car until seen by the nurse in the carpark.
Our Mental Health and Addiction Services, Family Start, Whanau Ora, Pepi Ora/Well Child services are also available Monday – Friday. They will continue with appointments, advice and support utilising a variety of mediums, including but not limited to; telephone, skype and social media platforms.
