  • There are 7 new confirmed cases reported today – all community cases
  • 9 people are receiving hospital care – 2 are in ICU at Middlemore hospital
  • New Zealand currently has 129 active cases of which 110 are community transmission cases
  • Auckland will stay at Alert Level 3 until 23.59 on 30 August, and if there are no significant changes will then move to Alert Level 2 with some additional restrictions on gathering sizes – gatherings will be limited to 10 people, funerals and tangihanga will be limited to 50 people. For the rest of the country gatherings are limited to 100 people
  • These settings will remain in place for 1 week, and will be reviewed again before Sunday 6 September
  • From 23.59 on August 30 face coverings will be mandatory for all people travelling on public transport
