Kia Ora & Welcome

At Te Manu Toroa, we take a holistic approach to wellbeing that supports your whole whānau.

As every whānau has different needs and wellbeing priorities, our kaimahi work together with you to figure out what matters most to your whānau right now – and in the future too.

How we can help

Te Manu Toroa provides affordable health, social and whānau wellbeing services from pepi to kaumātua.

Clinics and health services

We are a whānau-centred health provider operating two general practices in Tauranga and Pāpāmoa.

Our services also extend to Community Nursing, Mental Health & Addictions, Family Start, Child & Youth Services, Dental Services and Rongoā Māori. We also have mobile specialist staff available for patients who may be unable to travel.

Kaupapa Māori
Healthcare, made easy

Te Manu Toroa was established in 1997, to provide more accessible and affordable healthcare services to Māori in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Central to our kaupapa is the importance of relationships and community. That’s why we partner strategically with GP surgeries and pharmacies throughout our district to provide convenient, wraparound healthcare that places whānau at the centre.

Originally known as Western Iwi Health, Te Manu Toroa is the largest provider within the Ngā Mataapuna Oranga network – a Māori Primary Health Organisation located in Tauranga.
